Fall is in full swing now, and I am absolutely ecstatic about it! I love the beautiful colors (though minimal in Southern California), the cooler weather, the fall scents, and the endless baked goods! I also love fall because it is when I met my boyfriend, Austin, two years ago. Because of my love for fall, I thought it would be fun to do a roundup of some fun fall date ideas!
Top Fall Date Ideas
1. Go Apple Picking
One of the first things I think of for fall is harvesting fruit. I love apples so this would be my pick. After you get back from the apple orchard, you can make your own apple cider!
2. Attend A Fright Fest
Many amusement parks have Halloween themed late nights. Some options are Six Flags Fright Fest, Universal Horror Nights, and Knots Scary Farm. Disney also turns Halloween themed, though it’s not scary.
3. Go To A Pumpkin Patch
If you are lucky enough to live near a pumpkin patch that you can pick your own pumpkin at, I highly recommend it! If not, there may be a pumpkin patch that already has the pumpkins picked and you can choose from those!
4. Have A Picnic
Pack you and your partner some of your favorite snacks, a warm blanket, and maybe a few candles to have a romantic date.
5. Go Stargazing
Again, pack some warm blankets and head out to the best local spot to see the stars. I recommend somewhere with minimal lights. The roof of your house is always a good option.
6. Watch A Football Game
Fall is notorious for football! You have the choice to watch live or on TV. If you choose to go live, watch your favorite college team on Saturday or your Favorite NFL team on Sunday! Austin and I were lucky enough to have season tickets for the Titans last year and we miss it a lot this year.
TIP: look up discount codes before buying tickets for a more budget friendly date!
7. Bake Some Sweet Treats
Pick out some of your favorite treats from Pinterest and head to the kitchen! After you bake and clean together, you get to EAT together!
8. Go See A Drive-In Movie
Drive-Ins are far and few between nowadays, but if you’re lucky enough to have one near you, load your car with cozy blankets and pillows and your favorite snacks. Usually you get two movies for the price of one which is a bonus!
9. Carve Pumpkins
You can now carve the pumpkins that you got at the pumpkin patch together! Make it a contest and have a family member judge whose is better!
10. Go To The Fair
As many of you know, fall is my favorite because of the fairs (you can see why here)! If there is a fair near you, go check out the food, animals, and rides! This one is by far one of my favorite fall date ideas!
11. Go On A Hayride
Opt for a nice little hayride for a romantic date, or change it up for a haunted hayride for you adrenaline junkies.
12. Have A Bonfire
Plan a bonfire, complete with s’mores, for just the two of you. Spend the evening enjoying each other’s company and telling stories.
13. Go On A Hike
You and your loved one can enjoy the cooling weather while taking in the beautiful sights of fall!
14. Have A Movie Night At Home
Watch your favorite movies! My pick for the fall would be classic Disney Halloween movies. Hocus Pocus anyone?
15. Go Horseback Riding
With the cool weather, enjoy the changing leaves of fall while riding a horse! For those of you local to LA, check out my review of Sunset Ranch and book your ride today.
16. Decorate Your House
Fall home decor is some of my favorite! Take a trip to Target or Home Goods and pick out some essential pieces for your home. Step it up a notch and decorate the outside for Halloween as well.
17. Make Chili Together
Chili is always a great cold weather meal. Make chili and cornbread and enjoy it on a cold night!
18. Go To The Park
Take a walk to a park for some outdoor exercise before the weather gets too cold. Bring your eno and spend some time hanging out! Take your dog, and make it a family affair!
19. Wonder Through A Corn Maze
Dress cozy and lead each other through a corn maze, trying not to get lost.
20. Take A Bike Ride
Another chance to get some exercise before it gets too cold. Go for a bike ride together. If you have a tandem bike, even better!
