It is easy for go-getter women like yourself to feel stuck in life from time to time. Especially when it seems like everyone and their sister is getting all the things we are wishing and working for. But it is important to remember that we are a work in progress. And while you work to get your life together, there is also a journey to be enjoyed.
Let’s be honest, being a young adult is freaking hard. Add in the craziness that was 2020 and everything else we continue to face – and it seems nearly impossible to succeed.
Add in social media and comparison and we end up feeling anxious, frustrated, and stressed the f out because we are so far behind everyone else, right?!
First off, I want to remind you that you are doing great! You don’t always see what everyone else is going through, but I promise that everyone is facing something hard. And even if you feel like you are on the hot mess express right now, you will get to where you want to be.
The good news is you don’t have to be a victim to your circumstances. So even if you are going through hard things right now, there are still a few things you can do to get your life together once and for all.
This post is sharing the absolute best ways to get your life together ASAP!
How To Get Your Life Together Quick
Stop wasting your energy on complaints
When you feel like you’re being dragged through the mud, it can be easy to complain about your circumstances. You want to avoid doing this for one main reason: what you focus on, you get more of.
SO if you are constantly thinking about the bad things going on, you will only see more things to complain about in your life. Having a victim mentality is not only going to make you feel like your life is a bigger mess than it is but it will take a lot more energy away from focusing on getting your life together.
One easy solution to get out of the practice of complaining is to turn each complaint that pops into your head into a positive. This doesn’t mean having false positivity, but usually, you can find a silver lining.
Have routines in place
If you feel like everything else in your life is a mess, at least have routines. Having a morning and night routine is the perfect way to ensure that at least something is going right in your life.
Take control of your life by implementing a routine that helps you feel your best right when you wake up and before you go to sleep every single day.

Practice gratitude DAILY
Like I said early, you get more of what you focus on in life. So when you are grateful every day, you have less time to worry about what you don’t have and more about what you’re grateful for.
Happiness is not a destination. It is something you find when you learn how to be content with what you have and where you are while you work for what you want in life.
Before you can make room for the things you actually want in life, you need to be grateful for everything you have already been given.
Identify pain points
Okay, so your life is a mess? What is making you feel that way? I like to think of life as different categories. There is a concept called “Level 10 Life” that identifies different areas in your life that contribute to your overall happiness.
Try to identify which area(s) you are experiencing the most pain in and what you can do to fix that.
The categories are:
- health
- environment
- fun
- relationships
- career
- finances
- spirituality
Get organized
If you lack organization, your life can quickly become overwhelming. Not knowing where anything is, what you have going on, or when things are due can all contribute to stress.
One easy way to feel like you have your life together is to get organized. It is an important part of planning and executing anything in life.
It can feel overwhelming to try and organize your entire life. Start by creating a few different lists to see in plain sight what you have going on and what might be the cause of your overwhelm. A few lists I would start with are:
- What you are currently spending your time doing every day/week/month
- What you want to be doing
- A running list of things that aren’t pressing but need to get done
Once the lists are created you can figure out a new schedule or system that allows you to fit in everything you want/need and remove anything you don’t.
Set clear goals
How can you feel like less of a mess if you don’t know what you’re working toward? Setting clear goals that you can work toward will help you get closer to where you want to be in life. Everyone has heard about SMART goals but honestly, I don’t feel like that is a great way to create goals.
As someone who is super visual, I think it is better to let your imagination run wild. Decide what you want your life to look like. Then turn those dreams into goals.
Once you have a solid idea of what goal you want to set, break it down. List out every single thing you need to do in order to achieve that goal. Then break down each of those steps even more. Finally, pick a few things you can do from that list every day/week/month to move you closer to reaching your goal.
Prioritize your health
If you aren’t taking care of yourself, how can you ever expect to get your life together?! When you feel your best physically, it is easier for you to show up better for yourself. Maybe you start by implementing healthier habits slowly. First, add vegetables to your diet. Then start working out a few times a week. Not only will you feel better physically but your mental health will improve as well.
Identify what doesn’t align with your vision
If you are keeping your hands full with things that don’t align with what you want in life, you won’t have space for the things you actually want.
Are you in friendships that don’t reflect who you want to be? Maybe you are settling for a job that pays you next to nothing and isn’t even in the career field you want. Or are you living in a place that doesn’t inspire you?
So often we recognize the things that are making us unhappy but stay the same because it’s comfortable. But the truth is there is nothing comfortable about being unhappy. Nothing is comfortable about knowing what you want but settling for a mediocre life.
We are not guaranteed anything in life. So we need to stop putting our deepest desires off for “someday” that might not even happen. Not to be morbid but seriously, drop the things that aren’t getting you to where you want to be in life.
Find what makes you happy
If you’re not sure what makes you happy or what you want in life, that is the first step to get your life together. Explore what you are passionate about or things you have always wanted to try out. This is the time where you dream big and explore what you really want in life.
What will allow you to feel less conflicted about your life and more enthusiastic about waking up every day?
Open a page in your journal and create a happy list – a list of all the things that make you happiest in life. Then make sure that you add more of those things to your life.
