There are so many healthy habits that contribute to multiple areas of your health. Eventually, you start to learn what helps you feel your best all around.

1. Drink more water

At a minimum, try to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water. Carry a reusable cup around with ice and a straw to make it easier.

2. Journal

I am a huge fan of journaling! It allows you to brain dump everything you have going on in your mind and work through it without fear of judgement.

3. Move your body

It doesn’t have to be some crazy workout that lasts for an hour. But get your body moving more and you will for sure feel better.

4. Talk with friends

Talking with friends helps you feel connected and part of a community. Humans need connection! Reach out to an old friend today.

5. Stretch daily

Add stretching to your morning or night routine to improve flexibility and prevent stiffness. It is also good for stress relief and improves your posture.

6. Cook a new recipe

Get creative or follow a Pinterest recipe. You may end up finding your new favorite meal on there.

7.Go for a walk

A walk is a great way to move your body or get some fresh air. I love to listen to a podcast and learn something new on my walks.

8. Practice meditation

It doesn’t have to be some insane 30 minute mediation. Just 5 minutes a day of quieting your mind can significantly reduce your stress and improve your mental health.

9.Positive Affirmations

Speaking positive affirmations over yourself and your life will help you have a more positive mindset and view yourself better. It is amazing what you start to believe when you hear it enough! Make sure the things you are saying about yourself are positive.

10. Create a night routine

Just like you should start your day on the right foot, you should end it that way as well. Find things that help you relax and unwind from the day.

11. Unfollow accounts that don’t make you feel good

Social media is an awesome way to connect with new people and find inspiration. Be sure to unfollow anyone who doesn’t inspire you or that you compare yourself to.

12. Eat more fruits & veggies

They’re good for you, just do it. An easy way is to blend them all in a smoothie for breakfast.

13. Have a morning routine

Start your day on the right foot with a routine that helps you feel your best. It can include anything that makes you feel prepared to take on the day.

14. Spend quality time with loved ones

We truly don’t know how much time we have here. Make sure the people you love know how you feel. Plus spending time with people you love makes for great memories and lower levels of stress (most of the time, lol).

15. Get out in nature

Enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer. Go for a hike or picnic and experience all that nature has to offer.

16. Take the stairs

Get in some extra steps. Again, movement is good for you.

17. Invest in a quality skincare routine

If you don’t have high quality skin care products in your routine, we need to talk. Our skin is our biggest organ so we need to take care of it!

18. Read a personal development book

You are never too old to learn something new. Personal development books offer new lessons and perspectives that you might not consider otherwise. My current favorite is Untamed by Glenon Doyle.

19. Find new workouts you enjoy doing

Working out is not one size fits all! Try group classes, HIIT, dancing, or even weight lifting.

20. Drink less soda

In an effort to cut out extra sugars (and save some money), cutting out soda is a great healthy habit to implement.

21. Open windows for fresh air

Not only does it freshen up the space, but it feels good to have fresh air flow

22. Eat less processed food

I am all about balance. And while I loovvveeee sweets, it is important to have whole foods incorporated into your diet. Try figuring out what a healthy balance looks like for you.

23. Do a daily devotional

To take care of your spiritual health, implement a daily devotional into your routine.

24. Keep your space clean

Clean space = clear mind. A clean space helps manage your stress so that’s a win in my book.

25. Schedule alone time

Even the most extroverted person should have alone time in their schedule. It allows you to get to know yourself better, reflect on anything going on in life, and appreciate some quiet time.

26. Don’t spend money you don’t have

This goes for credit cards or money that should be spent on bills. Try living below your means and stop living paycheck to paycheck.

27. Diffuse essential oils

I have quickly become a fan of essential oils. They help with headaches, allergies, and even sleeping better. Plus they just smell great!

28. Take vitamins & supplements that make you feel good

A multivitamin can be a great addition to your healthy habit routine. However, you don’t ever need to take a bunch of vitamins and supplements if you are getting everything you need from your diet. Do what makes you feel best.

29. Make new friends

It can be extremely hard to make friends as a young adult. Try putting yourself out there in different ways to make friends.

30. Try something new every month

Growth happens outside of your comfort zone. Trying something new each month will help you grow.

31. Start an emergency fund

Things happen and you want to be prepared. Try putting a little money aside each paycheck to build an emergency fund. Start working toward $1,000 and work your way up to a couple months worth of expenses.

32. Find a new hobby

Life is boring if all you do is go to school and work and don’t make time for play in your life. Trying out new hobbies gives you something to look forward to and you might even find a new passion.

33. Declutter frequently

To help keep your space clean, get rid of anything that you don’t use all the time.

34. Date yourself

People rarely talk about dating themselves. I think it’s the best thing you can do for yourself. It allows you to know exactly what you like and might look for in a future partner. Fall in love with everything about yourself!

35. Go to therapy

So many people think of therapy as taboo. However, it is so helpful to have someone to talk to that isn’t personally involved in your life. Don’t wait until something is going on in your life to seek help. It can be a preventative measure too.

36. Get a humidifier

Do it. A humidifier has so many benefits. It helps with chapped lips, hydrate your skin, and dry eyes among so many other things.

37. Moisturize

Along the lines of hydrating your skin, don’t skip out on using a moisturizer. It’s great to put lotion on when your skin is still a little damp after your shower.

38. Reduce stress

Stress affects your body in so many ways. Manage your stress to feel better overall.

39. Be punctual

Being on time – or even early – is a great habit to have

40. Plan your time

Ever feel like you never have enough time to do the things you want? Start planning your time and see what a difference makes in everything you can accomplish!

41. Use an air purifier

Dust doesn’t seem like a big deal until you realize all the nasty things that are in dust. Once I got an air purifier and saw just how much dust it catches, I was disgusted lol. This is such a necessity to keep your air at least a little cleaner.

42. Learn to say no

No one can do everything. If something doesn’t excite you, it’s okay to say no. A great motto is is it’s not a HELL YES it’s a hell no.

43. Get more sleep

It’s no secret that sleep is important for us. Yet so many of us don’t get enough of it. Try going to bed a little earlier tonight for more sleep.

44. Do hair masks

Besides the fact that their fun, the right hair mask can improve frizz and even repair damage.

Certain plants act as air purifiers, which as we know is a good thing. The added greenery helps warm up your apartment.

46. Think positively

It is scientifically proven that our thoughts create our reality. So it is super important to think positively throughout the day.

47. Listen to podcasts

Podcasts are a great way to get personal development incorporated into your every day. There are literally podcast shows for everything: business, crime, chit chat – something for everyone.

48. Choose organic when possible

I know buying organic can be a little bit more money but when you truly understand what is in the pesticides and chemicals the money doesn’t seem like such a big deal. At the very least try to buy organic for the Dirty Dozen.

49. Practice good hygiene

Shower, brush your teeth, floss, ect. It’s the little things that make a big difference

50. Eat healthy snacks

Try to pick less processed snacks when you are hungry. As a rule of thumb look for snacks that have the fewest amount of ingredients.

Instead of spending a bunch of time watching TV,  you could spend it doing any of these healthy habits

The most important healthy habit in life is to have more fun. Enjoy life. It is what we are here to do. In the grand scheme of things the stress, work, and all the other BS doesn’t mean anything if we aren’t enjoying ourselves.
