I’ve been thinking about some form of this post

I’ve been thinking about some form of this post for a while now and have finally decided it’s time. I’m seeing a lot of people share similar feelings on here and figured there’s no better time than now.

For the better part of my adult life I have felt the need to fit myself into boxes I’ve never wanted to be in. My sophomore year of college I felt more lost and alone than I ever imagined which lead me to creating my blog, Basically Becca Sue. I wanted to help other young women navigate adulthood while discussing topics that most people didn’t at the time.

My goal was to always be transparent and honest about the everyday struggles I was facing. Since then (2017) I have found myself placing an immense pressure on myself to show up and be a leader. I felt like people would only trust me if I had my shit together.

Over the years I started to feel like I had to suppress the multi passionate parts of me. That I had to choose either or - I can’t be a girly girl and love the outdoors. I can’t want a beautiful dream home and to live on the road/traveling. I can’t love my full time job and still want to be an entrepreneur.

Because of these thoughts I’ve placed myself in boxes that don’t feel fully authentic me. But not anymore.

Life is too short to live for anyone else. And I realize I don’t have to be in any box I don’t want to be. I can be and do all the things I love and that makes me, ME!

I hope you feel like you can do the same. And that you are always welcome as you are in my little corner of the internet.
